It is totally unclear from where the given kilometers («km 52» and «km 104») have to be calculated.
A mountain pass named «Pachamama», as indicated in the protologue, could not be found in any source. The protologue cites «between Sta. Isabel and Pasaje» as locality, but there is no point with an elevation of 1650 msm (also cited in the protologue and additionally in the fieldbook and the field diary) at the road from Santa Isabel (1550 msm) downwards to Pasaje (40 msm).
In June 1980 Rauh re-collected the same taxon at the same locality. This gathering was collected as Rauh 52792. In HEIDRAUHFDB062_060 he indicated as locality the mountain pass named Pachamama at 1650 msm, where the taxon grows at rocks. Contrary to the protologue he mentioned that Pachamama is situated between Giron and Santa Isabel, which corresponds to the given elevation. There is a remarkable solitary rock near Paltas at -3.226557°,-79.200747°, with its foot exactly at the given elevation, which could be the locus classicus of Vriesea andreettae.
