Comments:
- Ecology and distribution: this species is distributed in the Sierra Madre Oriental, in the States of Hidalgo, Queretaro, San Luis Potosi and Tamaulipas (Figure 42), between Parallels 21° and 23° N, in the biogeographical province of the Sierra Madre Oriental (classification according to Morrone, 2001, 2005). It occurs at altitudes of 450 and 2000 m above sea level, on calcareous sponge rock or occasionally as epiphyte in areas of low deciduous forest, Holm oak or pine oak forest, at temperate subhumid or warm subhumid.
