- DISTRIBUTION: P.trianae before was only reported from the Conocia of the Cordillera Oriental, Department of Cundinamarca, Colombia, near the Paramos of Bogotá (Smith & Downs 1974). This new registration widens the area of distribution of the species and the species with a likely disjunct distribution, probaly in isolated areas in both the Occidental and Oriental mountain ranges.
In the same place where P. trianae grows, the Paramo de Frontino, P. antioquensis L. B. Smith & R. W Read is well presented, being the only town in Antioquia where the Puyas are sympatric. According to the vouchers of available herbarium specimens the species flowers between the months of March and April. —See Betancur & Callejas 1997
