Tillandsia acosta-solisii Gilmartin differs from T. cornuta Mez and Sodiro to which it bears the most resemblance, in the following ways; T. acosta-solisii has its 2.5-3.0 cm long floral bracts erect to spreading, its inflorescence 12-14 cm long and its sepals 2.4-2.7 cm long. T. cornuta Mez and Sodiro has its 1.8 cm long floral bracts spreading at ca. 45° angle with the rhachis, its inflorescence is 10-12 cm long and its sepals are 1.8-2.1 cm long. (Gilmartin)
