- The description of this species is quite detailed:
The leaves of this plant at the base are nearly an inch broad; they are about a foot in length, tapering to a fine point and channelled; the broad part is marked with longitudinal stripes, which disappear two inches from the base. The flower stem is about six inches in height, clothed with scales, which are pressed quite flat, giving it a two-edged form. The flowers come out at the flattest part: they are small, and soon fade. —See Turner 2016 p. 1146
