  I have not seen the holotype, but in other fruiting specimens (Ferris 6111) the carpels are not reticulate in the ordinary sense; they are provided with prominent longitudinal ridges (nerves) that are weakly and irregularly connected by smaller lateral nerves. —See Smith & Downs 1974
