  According to Chavez Reyes, the vernacular [?Huichol ] name applied to this plant is matzahue, meaning octopus. The locality called Tetakararo, according to notes by Chavez at IBUG, is 6 km southeast of San Andres Cohamiata. —See McVaugh 1989
