- Dyckia saxatilis occurs in Goias, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais and Bahia. In Minas Gerais it occurs in Campos Rupestris, Cerrado and Mata Atlantica. In PESRM, D. saxatilis was found in Campos Rupestris Ferruginosos Couracado saxicolously, growing in circular clumps. This is a very variable species morphologically, which must be studied for a better understanding of its boundaries. .It can be confused with D. consimilis Mez and D. schwackeana Mez. It differs from D. consimilis by having larger diameter rosettes and not curved, lower scape bracts broadly ovate to elliptic, dense, (vs. ovate and sublax), the largest I.5 -2.7 (vs. 0.8-l), scape robust and angular (vs.slender and cylindric), inflorescence capitate (vs. subdense), floral bracts widely ovate to elliptic (vs. ovate) and stamens connate 2-3 mm (vs. 5-6 mm connate). As for D. schwackeana, it differs byhaving larger diameter rosettes, upper scape bracts smaller than internores (vs. bigger), scape robust and angular (vs. slender and cylindric). Taxonomic studies are recommended for better appreciation of these taxa.
