Dyckia limae is rupicolous or saxicolous, restricted to the insel¬bergs of Serra de Jerusalem, Chapada de Sao Jose, Serra das Torres and Serra Branca, in Catimbau National Park. Created in 2002, this park lies within the Sao Francisco River watershed and has one of the most important underground aquifers in the North¬east - the Tucano-Jatoba aquifer. Park boundaries include the municipalities of Buique, Ibimirim and Tupanatinga, in the hin¬terland of Pernambuco. The vegetation has species endemic to the Caatinga, such as Jacaranda rugosa (Bignoniaceae), to the Atlantic forest, such as Cecropia pachystachya (Cecropiaceae), and to the Campos Rupestres, such as Paralychnophora reflexoauriculata (Asteraceae). The bromeliad flora consists of 10 species and two of these, D. limae and Tillandsia catimbauensis Leme, W Till & J. A Siqueira, are endemic to the area. —SeeSiqueira & Leme 2007
