This mesa is part of the formation of Araracuara (of the Paleozoic), chemically dominated by quartz, located at an altitude about 130-150 m on the lower level of rio Caqueta, with plain relief, precipitation averaging yearly 3,059 mm and régime unimodal (Duivenvoorden & Lips, 1993).
