Comments:

• Endemic.
  The floral bracts were originally described as entire, but an isotype (Maguire et al. 29882, NY) and a more recent collection from Cano Negro (Oliua-Esteue 210, VEN) have apically serrate floral bracts. Navia cretacea is difficult to distinguish from N. latifolia, and it is possible that they are conspecific. —See Steyermark, Holst et al. 1989
