• Endemic.
  In the isotype collection at NY (Cowan & Wurdack 31359), the outer inflorescence bracts and basal part of the inner leaves are distinctly paler than the rest of the leaf blades, but no mention of colored bracts or leaves is made on the label. —See Steyermark, Holst et al. 1989
