- A variety with concolorous green leaves and less branched primary branches with longer spikes. Primary bracts about equaling to about half as long as the stipes of the primary branches; Primary branches mostly simple or with one smaller secondary branch, 11-20 cm long, long stipitate; Stipes of the primary branches 3-6.5 cm long; bearing 1(-2) sterile bracts; Spikes fertile part (6.5-)7.5-13.5(-18.5) cm long, ca. 2 cm wide (excluding the petals); Flowers 2.2-2.7 cm long. —See Gouda 2023b p. 163

Comments:
- Observations: it is not clear if this concolorous variety is common or just an incidental finding. Beside the type material, no other specimens are known. The primary branches are less branched and spikes are much longer (fertile part 7.5-13.5 cm vs. ca 5 cm long) and wider (ca. 2 cm vs. 1.2 cm wide) than the type variety. The flowers are larger (2.2-2.7 cm vs. ca. 2 cm long) and less densely arranged, and the sepals are often exceeding the floral bracts, which is not the case in the type variety. Therefore, it could be possible that this is a hybrid of Guzmania vonbismarckii and another species. —See Gouda 2023b p. 164
