Abstract:—This plant has been grown for a long time by Franz Gruber in Colombia and said to be collected by him more than 30 years ago from the wild. Probably it can be found in more plant collections and I got the plant from Peter Bak to find out what it is. It possesses many characteristics of Nidularium procerum Lindman (1891), but remarkably does not have any pollen in the anthers or only a few, indicating that it is a hybrid, so I suppose it is a natural hybrid of this species, but with what? Because of the raised inflorescence above the rosette, the second parent is not a Nidularium and so it is probably a bigeneric hybrid (personal communication with Elton Leme).
