Abstract:—During the unsuccessful search for Tillandsia chiletensis in the western part of the Departamento of Cajamarca in Peru, a surprising discovery was made: Tillandsia palmatodigitata. This new bromeliad species is described and illustrated in detail. It belongs to the T. rauhii complex, along with T. teres and T. lymanii. However, it is clearly distinguished from them by its upright, densely cylindrical-pyramidal, and triple branched inflorescence.
