Abstract:—Due to the recent discovery of two previously undescribed tillandsia species from the vicinity of the village of Yánac, Dpto. of Ancash, Peru, the morphologically similar alliance of Tillandsia macbrideana, as described by Prof. Rauh in 1985, is presented for their precise delimitation, along with a series of inquiries and delineation issues.

Taxonomy:—Tillandsia macbrideana var. longispica Reconstruction of the type locality: route Trujillo–Coina, c. 40 km north of Otuzco towards Usquil, near the village of La Libertad. Furthermore, the collection date was corrected to 13 October 1973. (p.21).—Tillandsia pseudomacbrideana Reconstruction of the type locality: Dpto. La Libertad, (Laguna Sausacocha) the road from Huamachuco to El Pallar (Rauh ‘Pailar’). From the lagoon, one reaches the El Potrerillo gorge (steep rocky faces according to Rauh) after approximately 10 km (p.14).
