Abstract:—On my trip to Bolivia in July and August 2019, I travelled through large parts of the highlands. I already reported on my first experiences from Lake Titicaca to the Salar de Uyuni in the first part of the last issue of DIE BROMELIE (Seringer 2022). As the last and, for me, most important destination of my trip, I headed for the valleys around and especially south of the city of La Paz (Figs. 1 & 2). One might think that this area is well explored, but many reports are old, information is inaccurate and looking at the flora here, one finds some contradictory things. I know most of the area, but there are still some nooks and side valleys where I have not yet been, and some of the species described here are only superficially known. In any case, I wanted to see Tillandsia carnosa var. boliviensis H. Luther again, whose location I had found for the first time in 1998 and of which I have been cultivating plants ever since, two of which started to flower for the first time the year before my trip. Now I had the opportunity to compare my tillandsias with those in their natural habitat.
