A new Tillandsia species from Honduras, related to the widespread T. variabilis

Abstract:—A new species of Tillandsia is described, illustrated, and compared with two closely related species. The species is named in honor of Jacob Bak, one of the pioneers in bromeliad horticulture for the larger market, and for building a company in the Netherlands that is leading in bromeliad young plant production and product development, especially in Guzmania. Jacob is also very much interested in xerophytic Tillandsia species and has build a huge collection of natural species at the Corn. Bak nursery over the years.
