Abstract:—One new species of Tillandsia (Bromeliaceae) from Ecuador is described and illustrated here. Tillandsia hiroi (subfamily Tillandsioideae) from the province of Azuay in the Valley of Oña region of south Ecuador is related to Tillandsia porphyrocraspeda (L.B. Smith) J. Grant. Distinguishing characteristics of the new species are provided.
