Abstract:—We have been cultivating a Tillandsia L. from the Brazilian state of Bahia for almost a quarter of a century, which belongs to the alliance of Tillandsia streptocarpa Baker, subgenus Phytarrhiza (Vis.) Baker. The plants stand out due to their appressed scaling, which gives them a very dull color impression. After years of research and evaluation of extensive literature, the taxon will now be presented as a new species. But first to the relevant literature.
