Abstract:—Abstract A cladistic analysis of morphological data for the genus Canistropsis is presented. With the exception of two species, C. selloana and C. correia-araujoi, results support Canistropsis as monophyletic. Canistropsis correia-araujoi is a suspected, natural bigeneric hybrid. Canistropsis selloana is transferred back into the monotypic genus Andrea. A taxonomic treatment, including a greatly emended description, and discussion of the distribution, habitat, and conservation of Andrea selloana is presented.
