Abstract:—It was a long-cherished wish of Walter Till and myself
to visit once in our life time one of the biodiversity centres
of Bromeliaceae: the country of Colombia. Colombia
was one of the few South American countries that Walter
had not been able to visit during his long period of bromeliad
research. For a long time, it was not possible to
easily plan and carry out a trip because of the danger in
this area. After repeated invitations from Franz Gruber,
about whom this periodical has already been reported
several times, we decided to visit him and do a study trip
to Colombia in the summer of 2017.
