O. lindleyana is an illegitimate and superflous name that is automatically typified under icn 7.5 by the type of B. carnea; the lectotype is incorrectly designated by Zizka et all. 2002. .—Pitcairnia werckleana Based on the sepal length and possibly on the petal color (orange for Costa Rica and yellow in the Andes), this species is kept as a separate species, but more study is needed. .—Renealmia spica multiplici, alia angustifolia Considered a synonym of Tillandsia polystachia (L.)
