German title:—Eine neue Art aus Querétaro, Mexiko: Tillandsia queretaroensis
Abstract:—In 1993, on one of their many trips to Mexico, Lydia and Gerhard Köhres from Erzhausen discovered in Querétaro a plant in the Tillandsia hammeri / T. juncea complex which however differed from these in many features. On 11.03.1994 my husband Klaus and I were able to collect this “new” plant and photograph it on site. On 21.11.2000 I went to the type location again with Lydia and Gerhard Köhres in order to collect material and do some further examination. Lydia und Gerhard Köhres report on the discovery of Tillandsia queretaroensis in a few words: “There is nothing exciting to write about the location Querétaro. The plants grows right next to the newly built motorway at a parking lot and you can easily climb up the rocks. There are a few cacti as companion plants.” Even after such a long time since its discovery this plant has still not been published and it shall therefore now be described as Tillandsia queretaroensis.
