Abstract:—T. penascoensis is a very interesting new small species found by U. Lautner and M. Kretz growing on steep, almost inaccessible rocks in Mexico, Oaxacca. It looks like a small, secund T. plumosa, but differs by shorter, more asymmetric coarse scales; inflorescence not bipinnate but mostly simple; sepals not lepidote, petals smaller, slightly exceeding the flower bracts. It is not easy to cultivate, the conditions should be as well as for T atroviridipetala from the Tonala-Canyon.
