Abstract:—In Chiapas, Mexico, a new Tillandsia species was found, growing on trees near Motozindla, 1800—2100 m. lt is named T. crista-gallii, that means its inflorescence is somewhat similar to a comb of a cock! lt is closely related to T. tricolor, hut differs by much broader leaf sheats. spikes compound and not sessile, flower bracts shorter and scarcely longer than the sepals. lt differs from T. polita by propagating by basal stoloniferous rhizoms, info rescence long-cylindric, not globose, spikes longer with more flowers, petals longer. lt‘s easy growing and propagates freely after flowering.
