Abstract:—This new species is growing in humid and cool mountain regions in Guatemala, up to now found in the Sierra los Chuchumatanes and the Sierra de Chuacus, together with T. eizii, ponderosa, lautneri and mateoensis. lt differs from the related T. standleyi and T. orogenes by its much smaller size and more bulbose shape, the subglobose inflorescence. the smaller spikes, orange bracts and the much longer green-yellow petals. lt differs from T. lautneri by the smaller, stiffer leaves, the almost upright inflorescence, the smaller primary bracts; the flower bracts are twice as long and are longer than the sepals, petals are yellow-green, not dark-violet.
