Abstract:—This attractive species was found by Roberto Burle-Marx in Bahia. When not in flower it bears resemblance with T. kirschnekii hut there is no further relation to this species. lt differs from the similar T. araujei var. minima by its succulent, terete and gray lepidote, not green leaves; by the smaller, greenish-yellow, not rose-coloured bracts which are cuspidate acuminate, carinate toward the apex, and adaxially and abaxially lepidote; the yellow, prominently nerved sepals, and the shorter and broader petals.
