Abstract:—This new species was found growing on rocks near San Miguel Coatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico, together with T. roseoscapa and T. hammeri. lt differs from T. fasciculata var. fasciculata and T. langlasseana by its softer, narrow leaves with spreading scales and the cylindric mnflorescence with numerous spikes; from T. langlasseana by its much smaller sheats, complanate, narrow, stalked spikes, narrow, less convex flower bracts and the much longer, but less connate and prominently nerved sepals; from T. fasciculata by the lepidote rhachis, stalked spikes and flowers, and the less connate (only 5mm) posterior sepals.
