Abstract:—All data received from scanned fresh plant material could be used as a base for different questions. The received details in the macroscopical field are very significant and can be easily compiled to overviews by using a comfortable graphic program. So those details are very good complements to the data received from usual herbarium sheets, where smaller plant details may not at all be recognized because of drying and pressing the plant material, e. g. the ligulae.
Note: This article is a presentation of the scans the author prepared of Bromeliaceae species which was also presented at one of the DBG meetings in 2015. A total of 314 Bromeliaeae plates were made available for this Encyclopaedia. Scans of 200 species of other families were presented in the book "Bildatlas der Blütenpflanzen - 200 botanische Familien im Porträt" by Niesler & Niebel 2017 (see Literature - Books from the main menu).
