Abstract:—A summary of Mexican Bromeliaceae diversity and distribution is presented along with a checklist of species. The checklist includes information on type specimens, synonymy, distribution by state and municipality, and notes on endemism. Two new combination/status changes are made in Tillandsia (T. arroyoensis, T. glabrior).

(p.48).—Tillandsia flavobracteata Treated as synonym of Tillandsia fasciculata Swartz .—Tillandsia hromadnikiana Treated as a synonym of Tillandsia prodigiosa (p.84).—Tillandsia pringlei Treated in Smith & Downs (1977) as a synonym of T. karwinskyana Schult.f. Accepted as distinct species (p.69).—Tillandsia vicentina var. wuelfinghoffii Considered conspecific with the type variety (p.86).—Vriesea malzinei var. disticha placed in synonymy with the type variety (p.86).
