Observations: —Differs from B. distachia in
Leaves ligulate with recurved round tip (not narrow triangular attenuate)
Leaves with white crossbands (In B. distachia var. maculata yellow spotted)
Sepals cinnabar with dark blue tip (not pale green)
Petals tipped cornflower blue, later reddish (not pale green)
Anthers at anthesis widely exceeding not enclosed.
