Observations: —Differs from A. candida in
Leaf blades long tapering toward apex and ending with a pungent spine
Floral bracts much smaller
Sepals glabrous and dark yellow with a shorter mucron
Petals acute
Ovary glabrous and dark yellow

NOT related to A. candida but closer to A. lingulata and A. bicolor. See Leme's comments J Brom Soc. 47 (1): 9.1997
