Observations: —Lamprococcus Vallerandi is very remarkable, not only by its inflorescence and the beauty of its flowers, but even by its stature and its vigour. As for the part that bloomed and after which the coloured illustration (opposite)was made, it had, at the time of its arrival in France, twenty-eight leaves over 1m long and arched gracefully. To give an idea of the general aspect of the plant, we see the drawing(fig 23), and of another part, in order to make out again one of the main characters of inflorescence, we executed figure 24 that shows with the insertion of the floral branch and the disposition of the flowers.Translated by Butcher from: Revue Hort 49: 129, figs. 23, 24, pI..
