Diagnose: —Stolonifera usque 20 cm alta. Folia circa 12, rosulata, ligulata, utriculum perlongum, apice constrictum, ampullaceum formantia, 11-17 cm longa; vagina elliptica perconcava, 6-8 cm longa, 6 cm lata, utrinque dense brunneo-lepidota, lepidibus punctiformibus, fovis immersis, praecipue base; limbo lineari, 5-9 cm longo, 3-3,5 cm lato, subtus purpurascente, supra atro-viride, crasse coriaceo, patens usque reflexo, apice rotundato mucrone aucto, prae-tea revoluto, margine denticulos minutos praedita. Scapus 4 cm longus; bracteis scapali ovatis, 5 cm longis, 2,5 cm latis, albescentibus, apice mucrone aucto. Inflorescentia simplex ellipsoidea, corymbosa, circa 12-flora, foliorum rosulae fere occultata; bracteis floralibus lineari-lanceolatis, 3-4 cm longis, integerrimis, sepalis aequilongis vel paulo minoribus. Flores minus pedicelli 6 cm longis; pedicellis plicatis, 2 cm longis; sepala lanciformia, acuminata, 35 mm longa, base 10 mm connata; petala 6 cm longa, base connata, limbo an-guste lanciforme, apicem versus violacea caeterum alba; staminibus petala aequante, antheris linearibus, 10 mm longis, base obtusa, apice apiculato, fere base affixis; stilo 5 cm longo; ovario subtrigono, albido, 10 mm longo, placentis paulo infra apicem loculi affixis; ovulis paulo apiculatis. Observations: —Our new species is related to N. ampullacea (E. Morr.) L. B. Smith and to N. hoehneana L. B. Smith but differs in the size of the pedicel, sepals and petals and in the plicate pedicel.
