Observations: —In spîte of its imperfectlv two-sided infiorescence it is împossible to separate this species from Platystacbrs. I have previouslv (Enum. Bromet., p. 6) reported on T compressa Bertero, a varïety labeled as oligostacbya in the Kew Herbarium on a specîmen of the same plant as collected by Sintenis in Puerto Rico. However, Mr. Baker identifies T compressa and its variety with T anceps Lodd., whïch is veiy remote from ït and belongs rather to section Pbytarrbiza than to Ptatystacbys.
