Pitcairnia lutea Hort. Linden ex Baker  diagnose
leaves thin, entire, lanceolate, sessile, 2–3 ft; long, 1 ¼ in; broad at the middle, not furfuraceous beneath. inflorescence a simple dense raceme, 3–4 in; long. flowers: pedicel short, erecto-patent; floral bracts lanceolate, lower an inch long; sepals lanceolate, an inch long; petals yellow, ca 2 in long, twice as long as the sepals.
