Aechmea eriantha Brongn. ex Baker  diagnose
leaves rigid, lorate, 2–3 ft; long, nearly naked on both surfaces, 1 ½ in; broad at the middle, 3 in; at the dilated base; marginal spines minute. inflorescence a panicle of numerous subglobose heads ½ in; diam., with 6–8 flowers in each; floral bracts ovate-cuspidate, thinly white-lepidote on the back, 1/6 –1/4 in; long. pistil: ovary with calyx ¼ in; long. flowers: sepals ovate, mucronate; petal-blade minute.
