plant stoloniferous.stolons elongate, rounded, pendant, 15–22 cm long or longer, 2.5 mm diameter, covered by triangular sheaths, polystichous, soon dry and brown; the portion of the tank in the rosettes 8–10 cm, 2.5–4 cm wide. leaves 15–20 in an erect ellipsoid rosette at the end of the stolon, sparsely lepidote soon becoming glabrous; sheath broadly ovate, 4–5 cm long, entire except the apex; blade linear, attenuate, up to 47 cm long, 5–9 mm wide, flat, laxly serrate, spines 1.5 ~ long, absent in the apical third of the blade, the inner leaves red at base or completely, covered both sides with brown centered trichomes. inflorescence sunken in the center of the rosette, few-flowered, simple, 1–2 cm diameter; floral bracts elliptic, acute, slightly exceeding the ovary, pale, membranaceous, sparsely lepidote. flowers: sepals strongly asymmetric, broadly acute, 20–22 mm long, connate for 5–6 mm, glabrous; petals white, ovate, apically short-acuminate; petals* scales very well developed in finger-like structures. pistil: ovary cylindric, merging into the very short pedicel, up to 4.6 cm long; stigma simple-erect, with three lobes slightly convolute, margins undulate. fruits 4 cm long, apically dark blue or purple; seeds few, ellipsoid, 5 mm long, nearly smooth.
