- Identification (1777): Eric J. Gouda (2009-02-18) =Tillandsia rubella
- Could this be Tillandsia rubella. The floral bracts seems to be totally imbricate, not exposing the rachis in any part. (Sent: brom-l@nic.surfnet.nl)
- Identification (1777): Walter Till (2009-02-19) =Tillandsia purpurascens
- This is certainly not T. rubella but is VERY similar to T. purpurascens Rauh, Trop. Subtrop. Pflanzenwelt 75: 34-37, fig. 18 (1990).
The altitude is similar, the type locality is more north but this not an
argument against the identity.
