Tillandsia sagasteguii
Locality: Peru - Amazonas - Located at the sarcophagi at Karajia at an altitude of 2800 meters. Growing on steep rock cliffs (where the inflorescence is usually tilted away from the cliff), or in this case on steep ground where it will be upright. Sorry, I have no picture of the flowers of this species. Growing quite large to nearly 1.2 meters tall with very heavy inflorescence.

- Identification (11882): Walter Till (2014-11-19) =Tillandsia sagasteguii
- Looks very much like this species whose type locality is not far south at a similar elevation
- Add Note (11882): Eric Gouda (2014-11-19) - Yes, I agree Walter. The strange thing about the inflorescence is that the lower branches are undivided and the upper divided. This is mostly the other way around in other species, but the type shows only upper part of inflorescence. (Sent: brom-l@science.uu.nl)
- Add Note (11882): Jerry Raack (2014-11-19) - I have other pictures of this species (other plants) if that would help.
- Add Note (11897): Jerry Raack (2014-11-19) - I did find one of my pictures that is out of focus, but from it I can tell that this Tillandsia has deep blue flowers.
