11733 - Bromeliads (Garden) - 2014-08-05 (Dimension: 1530 x 2050 pixels - Counter: 12978) Guzmania remyi? Locality: Ecuador - Obtained from Ecuagenera, sold as Guzmania melinonis (I don't think so). Photographer: Jerry Raack Note: Yes, not only is flowering fleeting, but the color in the inflorescence also disappears quickly. Here is a picture from today (Aug 5), while the other pictures were from July 29. But, a nice species nevertheless. I collected this years ago in Ecuador as well, and the plants were about the size of this, and I always remember the inflorescence being upright to only slightly slanted. Identification: pending (Click on the picture to enlarge)
