Habitat: Epiphyte in misty, cloudy and cool montane forest on the Amazonian side of the Andes., ca 2200 m. Elev.

Etymology: Named after Juan Crespo Vintimilla (1943 -) and his wife Juana Catalina Jaramillo Crespo (1943 - ), enthusiasts of the Ecuadorian bromeliads and friends of Cuenca, Ecuador.
