Type: Peru, San Martin, near Natural Reserve Alto Mayo, alongside the road at ca. 1650 m elev., Jeffrey Kent January 2010, flowering ex cult. 06 October 2018 (holotype U, isotype USM).

Habitat: epiphyte in montain forest, ca. 1650 m. Elev.

Etymology: The plant is named after the area Alto Mayo, where it was found.
