Distribution: Brazil. Pará

Habitat: grows as an epiphyte on canopy trees in alluvial tropical forest, at the riverbanks

Etymology: The epithet refers to the Xingu River, where it was originally discovered. The word ‘xingu’ has no meaning in indigenous language.

Phenology: Under cultivation A. xinguana bloomed in November and February
