Distribution: Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul

Habitat: in a rocky escarpment of the river Camaqua

Etymology: the species epithet is named in honour of Professor and Naturalist, Leopoldo Witeck Neto, Forest engineer and Professor at the Colegio Politecnico da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (Rio Grande do Sul).

Phenology: blooms from July to December, fruits from August to January
