Type: Type: BRAZIL. Minas Gerais: Montezuma, Parque Estadual de Montezuma, topo de morro no entorno da represa da COPASA, 1012 m elevation, 15º 09’ 53” S, 42º 29’ 16” W, 26 May 2010, E. Leme 8315 & R.Oliveira (holotype RB!).

Distribution: BRAZIL. Minas Gerais

Habitat: a typically terrestrial, found in the shrubby Cerrado vegetation, ca. 1000 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name chosen for this new species refers to the county of Montezuma, where it was found within the limits of Montezuma state Park.

Dyckia montezumensis
