Distribution: BRAZIL; Bahia,

Habitat: Restricted to one mountain of the Atlantic Rainforest along a slope, 700 - 1000 m. Elev.

Etymology: The name chosen for Vriesea longisepala is in reference to its sepals, which are much longer than the floral bracts.

Phenology: The high-altitude environment was very shady and humid. Floral buds in January, flowers in March, fruits in May and November
