Habitat: epiphytic species of the Atlantic Forest, living from the moderately illuminated stratum to the highest, much sun exposed tree branches, where the plant rosettes become more compact and colorful, 1045 m. Elev.

Etymology: - Neoregelia dayvidiana honors one of its collectors, Dayvid R. Couto, a biologist from Alegre, Espírito Santo State, nowadays deeply involved in botanical surveys in the region where he lives.
