Distribution: BRAZIL: Pará

Habitat: growing as a saxicole in a very humid site, near a waterfall, in the Amazon forest.

Etymology: The epithet of this species honors the collector of the type specimen, the Amazonian orchid specialist, Joăo Batista Fernandes da Silva, who has discovered countless new species.
